Introducing Samsung's NAND SSD With DDR

Interactive SonyTEMPO Walkman, Seoul - Samsung launched a Solid State Drive (SSD) with the latest DDR NAND flash memory.

SSD with a capacity of 512 GB for a single this is the first drive that uses NAND chip DDR mode. Drive which began production in November 2009 was made with multi-level cell (MLC) with a capacity of 32 GB for a single individual (4 GB for a single). So there are 128 MLC dirve packed inside this 512 GB for a single.

With large memory capacity, these drives have a data read speed of 250 megabyte per second and write speed of 220 megabyte per second.

Along with making the drive, the Samsung also developed power-saving new controller for the drive. Despite the large capacity, Samsung claims the use of electrical power for the SSD 512 GB for a single dummy no more than a capacity of 256 GB for a single driver.

Drive controller was also able to activate power-saving mode that can extend the lifetime of the battery leptop up to an hour or more. Samsung said that the new SSD is designed for portable computers premium level.
