Dust and Cigarette Smoke Causes Asthma Main


JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Dust and smoke cigarettes ranked first and second causes of a person having asthma. This was conveyed Indonesian Asthma Council Chairman Prof. Dr. Faisal Yunus in the commemoration of World Asthma Day.

"Most of the dust can direct asthma. Both the cigarette smoke," he said, Sunday (05/09/2010) in Silang Monas, Jakarta. However, he explains, the cause of asthma each person is different, like smoke, cold air, and foods.

Faisal advised people with asthma to avoid the trigger factors. "It could also exercise for asthma sufferers are not acute asthma. Gymnastics helps breathing is good," he explains.

Asthma could arise because of two things, namely genetic (derivatives) and the environment. "As many as two thirds of people with asthma because of the environment. The third was just genetic," he told Kompas.com.

Now, the number of asthma sufferers in Indonesia reached 5,000 people. As many as 64 percent of the 400 people of uncontrolled asthma.
